20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center Forum, Columbia, SC, October 26-28, 2019
The Justice Action Network sponsored a reception at the 20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center’s 2019 Second Step Presidential Justice Forum. The forum, held at Benedict College in South Carolina, featured President Trump, Vice President Joe Biden, Senators Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren, Representatives John Delaney and Tulsi Gabbard, Secretary Julian Castro, and Mayor Pete Buttigieg. President Trump delivered remarks highlighting his accomplishments, including the First Step Act and clemency efforts, and said future grants of clemency were in progress. Each of the Democratic candidates gave brief remarks, participated in a fireside chat a moderator, and took questions from students Benedict College students. The moderators were members of the 2020 Bipartisan Justice Center, including Pennsylvania State Representative Jordan Harris, Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins, and St. Louis District Attorney Wesley Bell.
Holly Harris also spoke on a panel on the conservative case for justice reform with Right on Crime’s John Koufos and Florida State Representative Byron Donalds.
