Des Moines Register: Here's why you should care whether Congress finally passes criminal justice reform

Grassley and Durbin are pushing hard to get a vote in the Senate before the end of the year. They deserve a lot of credit for getting it this far, especially in this political climate. But they need you, me and other Americans to care enough about this to help push it over the top.

“So we have (a) once-in-a-generation opportunity to accomplish something on criminal justice reform,” Grassley said Tuesday during a forum sponsored by the Justice Action Network and the Washington Post. you can watch highlights of the forum on Washingtonpost.com. Grassley and Durbin both said the bill has more than enough bipartisan votes to pass.
